Microcredit is the extension of very small loans to those seeking alternatives to their income products (or lack of any) designed to spur entrepreneurship. These individuals lack collateral, steady employment and a verifiable credit history and therefore cannot meet even the most minimal qualifications to gain access to traditional credit.
the Next Meeting of the Micro-credit Loan Project is Saturday, January 16th. A group of women met in December and began the work to establish a micro credit loan program for women in DC. Our next steps include research, education, observation, and recruitment.
