YOGA*

The facilitator of this workshop is a class by ANDREA CHRISTIE.  The class is designed to increase flexibility and mobility, relieve stress, lower high blood pressure and improve circulation.  Five major points will be covered:  Proper exercise; proper breathing; proper diet; proper relaxation and positive thinking and mediation.  Particular emphasis is placed on proper breathing (Pranayama).  At the end of the session, final relaxation includes five to ten minutes of meditation to relax the mind, relieve stress, gain mental awareness and have a sense of unity with life.  Come prepared to participate.  Bring a mat or a towel and an open mind.

The facilitator, Andrea Christie is a professional African /Brazilian Jazz Dancer.  She performed in London, Paris, Amsterdam, and New York.  She began her practicing Yoga in 2006 and received her certification as Yoga Instructor in 2007, from DC Yoga, in Washington, DC.  She was instinctively drawn to the practice of Yoga and the benefits available to all people.  In efforts to help empower women in urban communities affected by domestic abuse to become self sufficient and improve their quality of life, Andrea founded "Me First Health & Wellness." a non-profit organization.

*Yoga means Union between Body, Mind and Spirit.
