Beauty: When the Other Dancer is the Self*

Being desired: an invitation to a dance. But all too often we fear that our looks will keep us from getting an invite. In this workshop we'll discuss how racism, transphobia, fatphobia, ableism, and more affects how we are viewed/view ourselves desirable as women. We'll also explore how we can claim ourselves unconditionally beautiful and connect with our succulence from inside out, from Spirit to skin. Let's get centered in our bodies rather than our body image. Let's ground ourselves in our own divinely bestowed erotic sovereignty, no matter how we feel positioned in the romantic/sexual "marketplace" on any given day. We'll engage in introspective play, inneractive small-group exercises, and incandescent interventions toward re-membering ourselves as treasures, not commodities. And entertain the question: what happens when we invite ourselves?
